Any tips on terminating a lease?

Did you give written notice as required by your lease?

Since your lease is ending you may not be required to give them any kind of notice. However, if your lease allows for a continuation on a month to month without proper notice you may be liable for the rent until you do. Also, most leases require the landlord to give you notice (usually 30 days) of any changes in the lease, including amount of rent. So, if they have not contacted you and there is a month to month clause in your lease you simply give them notice with next month’s rent and move out the end of July. I know it’s probably a month longer than you want, but it keeps you legal.
